We live in a country that has 11 diverse and beautiful languages but unfortunately our African languages seem to be fading away.
Being able to communicate to people in a language that they understand is so important and impactful in the art industry. PhandiCraft saw the importance of language thus we use African languages to work on children’s vocabulary extension, articulation and cultural education. We have found a way to make our languages “cool” again, thus kids are experiencing/interacting with our languages in modern and exciting way. The kids are very responsive to learning new languages and are always eager to showcase their newly found skills to their parents.
PhandiCraft explores indigenous games, folk tales, and language through active drama to enhance children’s confidence, creativity, and imagination.
Through active drama, PhandiCraft develops social skills, coordination, and concentration in children’s early-stage development.
PhandiCraft is an educational fun mural for kids, which consists of Drama and Dance. Together with the use of music, the child’s development is woven into the element of driving learning through fun. Since the establishment of PhandiCraft, we’ve offered active drama services to kids between the ages of 3 – 13 years old around South Africa. The programme has proven to be very effective in helping develop kids further.
We believe that when a child is given a chance to learn, explore and experiment in creative arts it gives a child a head start in their academic career. Thus it is evident that active kids learn more because active drama heightens their social skills, concentration and creative thinking.
